Peter Hughes

Peter Hughes is an experienced civil trial lawyer whose practice focuses on the defense of nursing homes, elder abuse,  transportation and general liability matters.

Peter has tried in excess of 55 jury trials to verdict. His skill as a trial attorney has been recognized by his membership in the American Board Of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) where he has held Associate rank since 2003. He served on the San Diego ABOTA Chapter Board for six years and is a past Chapter President. Peter holds an “AV” rating by Martindale Hubble. He is an active member in the Association Of Southern California Defense Counsel (ASCDC) and San Diego Defense Lawyers (SDDL). Peter obtained his Bachelors in Business Administration from The University Of San Diego School Of Business in 1984 and his Juris Doctor from The University Of San Diego School Of Law in 1987.

Peter is a highly experienced litigator and trial lawyer known for his civility and ethics yet aggressive advocacy on behalf of his clients. He has also been asked to ‘parachute’ into high exposure matters to serve as trial counsel on behalf of other defense counsel.

Peter is licensed to practice before all State and Federal Courts in California.
